It has been several weeks in the making, but after much debate, Benton County residents can rest easy following a vote by the county commission.

The Benton County Commission met in regular session on Monday night. After the meeting was called to order the citizens forum was opened to the citizens who wished to speak.

At Mondays commission meeting commissioners heard from candidates who wished to be considered for the fourth district seat that was vacated by Perry Hensley.

Early voting began on May 20 for the Camden city and Big Sandy city elections. Early voters can vote at the Benton County Election Commission located at 122 Walnut Street in Camden.

Funeral services for Luna Mae Todd, of Camden, formerly of Big Sandy, age 92, were held Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home with David French officiating.

Misconduct charges against a Benton County judge were dismissed Tuesday after he resigned from his position as General Sessions judge.
