658 Xanax pills seized during search
Two women who allegedly possessed 658 dosage units of Xanax in their home are among four people arrested on drug charges in recent days in Bienville Parish.
Bienville students' tests won't be voided
Students at two Bienville Parish schools where standardized testing irregularities were reported will not have their results voided by the state Department of Education or the local School Board, DOE spokeswoman Ileana Ledet said this week.
Police Chief Willie Shaw fired officer Demond Wheatley, who joined the department in August 2009, after a morning pre-disciplinary conference "for violation of department policies," according to a release.
Restaurant R'Evolution previews new space
After many delays, Restaurant R'Evolution finally opens next month. The project, inside the Royal Sonesta Hotel, is a collaboration between Louisiana's John Folse and the formerly Chicago-based Rick Tramonto, widely considered one of the nation's leading chefs.
