Earthquakes shake southern Albany County

Two minor earthquakes shook southern Albany County late Sunday afternoon. The first, registered a 2.6 magnitude, came at 4:10 p.m. The second quake, a 3.1 magnitude, followed at 5 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey's Web site.

A 50-year-old Berne man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting deaths of two dogs in the town of Berne, the Albany County Sheriff's Department said this morning at a news conference.
