Five Mississippi Department of Transportation employees were arrested Tuesday on charges of embezzlement, fraudulently obtaining public funds, making false entries in public records and conspiracy, the state auditor says.

A drowning occurred in Yazoo County over the weekend. Willie James Haymer, 37, of Benton was fishing with a friend in a boat in Rose Hill Lake.
