Former Wellington Mayor Kathy Foster submitted a formal request Wednesday asking the Village Council to donate to land known as K-Park to the college.
The tract is on Pierson Road, just west of U.S. 441.

Former traffic clerk charged with taking $12,000
“We're finding that employees in a financial crisis sometimes act out of the ordinary, in ways they would never have acted before”
For the second time in a week, a county employee has been charged with stealing money on the job.
On Tuesday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced the arrest of Lucille Gomez Dunaway for allegedly taking more than $12,000 in traffic ticket fines and using the money to pay her own bills.
Dunaway, 38, worked at the West County Courthouse in Belle Glade until Sept. 21, when she was fired for gross misconduct after officials discovered she had been diverting traffic ticket payments for her personal use. The Clerk of the Courts Office notified the FDLE, which began an investigation that culminated in Dunaway's arrest on Thursday in Jackson County. Dunaway worked for the clerk's office from 1989 to 1996 and was rehired in 2005, according to Clerk of the Courts Sharon Bock. Read more
