Vidant Health is accepting applications from Beaufort County and mainland HydeA County groups to develop projects that will improve the health of residents of the two areas, hospital officials announced Friday.
Jack Holsten, chief financial officer of Greenville-based Vidant Health, on Thursday responded to Fitch Ratings' recent decision to downgrade the health-care system's outstanding debt from AA- to A+. "We're not concerned about having our credit rating lowered to the A-plus level," Holsten told the Washington Daily News in an interview.
Belhaven bust nets drugs, cash, guns
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit disclosed that over 75 grams of cocaine, $9,497 in cash, two semi-automatic handguns, marijuana and drug packaging material were seized during a search of a Belhaven residence on Wednesday.
Pittard Perry & Crone, which has an office in Belhaven, announced it has been named as one of the top-five fastest-growing firms by region as well as one of the top-five fastest-growing firms by revenue of 2011.
