Two children, 5 and 16 months, were killed in a house fire on Dec. 26 in Bee Branch.

Ward, the Bee Branch resident who was a senior aide to Arkansas Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, was managing editor of the Log Cabin Democrat newspaper in Conway, and who also served as vice president of public affairs at UCA.
