KY: Kentucky Dept of Fish and Wildlife - Hunters for the Hungry
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP: * If you wish to donate a deer, please take it to one of our cooperating processors.Deer must be telechecked and tagged before donating. Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry pays processors an agreed fee to process each deer. Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry has set quotas for processors. Once those quotas are filled, hunters may be asked to pay all or part of the processing cost to donate their deer. Processors may be too swamped to receive your deer during gun season, so you may want to call your processor in advance during gun season to make sure the processor will accept your deer. Off-peak seasons like archery and muzzle-loading seasons are the best times to donate. Processors cannot accept deer that have not been cleanly field-dressed, well cared for and in good condition. Processors are vital to the program. Be sure to show them your gratitude. Donations to the program, in the form of checks, can be mailed to Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry, P.O. Box 176, Williamstown, KY 41097, or you can make a donation through the county clerks office when you renew your vehicle registration each year.
