George W. Parks, who turned the southern Fauquier County landmark Hugo's Skateway into a flea market, was fatally beaten Friday night in his business's parking lot.

This just sickens me to death how anyone could take another persons life over money and someone his age who could not defend himself.Mr Parks was my husbands great uncle he wouldn't harm anyone I know he will be missed.And the coward who did this will get what he deserves then let him see how much that money was worth to him

George was my Grandfather and a wonderful person that would give you the shirt off his back in order to help you. This is a sensless and sickening crime. If he would have died in his sleep or heart attack, we could deal with the loss a little better but to go in this manner is disheartening and something that we won't be able to shake as a family. No one deserves to go this way but an 87 year old man? What kind of animal would even attempt to do something like this. Let's pray for swift justice!

I am not related to Mr. Parks but visited his business for years. He was a very nice man and I am in shock and deeply saddened by his passing. I pray for his family.

I know Mr. Parks because he kept his boat at my Familys Marina The Pilot House Marina in Woodbridge. He was a wonderful man. I can not believe this seseless act. I enjoyed his visits so much. He continued to come visit even when he did not have a boat and we all here looked forward to seeing him. He will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I have known George for the past 3 1/2 years. I am a nurse at his doctor's office and I just saw him a couple weeks ago and as he normally did he gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I will cherish that last time I had with him. He was a wonderful man and nobody deserves to have that happen to them. We love you George!
