For artist who lost her hearing, silence became golden
"Being raised in a rural area has given me the opportunity to interact with nature at a very personal level," she said, recalling her time growing up surrounded by gardens and farmland in central Michigan, with many of her formative years spent in Beal City, just northwest of Mount Pleasant.
