Niki Deanne Sinclair was smart and successful - a respected physical therapist at UTMB Hospital in Galveston, a student earning her doctorate from Texas Woman's University, a woman with a loving husband and three residential properties on the island.

Police say the man that leaped to his death from the top floor of a downtown building Wednesday afteroon was 50-year old Kendall McKnight of Bayou Vista.

There's a mandatory water restriction now in effect in Lake Jackson. The city is implementing its phase two water conservation plan because of heavy water use the last five days.

Hitchcock is the latest city in the county to ask residents to curtail water use.
