GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado - Garfield County's first environmental health manager is leaving the county after seven years to take a similar position in the Denver area.

The Grand River Hospital District board of directors recently approved plans to build a new $16 million medical facility in Battlement Mesa.

The 35,000-square-foot building will house the district's Battlement Mesa Clinic and the Occupational Health and Safety Center, which it currently operates on leased space in Battlement Mesa.
