Battle Creek, Ia. - The Iowa Honey Queen hoists herself into her pumpkin-orange 1990 Ford pickup truck and, peering at your little four-cylinder parked in her driveway, asks a question: 'You mind if we take gravel?' Moments later, Shiliah Spaulding, 18, is rumbling down that gravel road.

THE ANNUAL EVENT IS ORGANIZED BY WASMER POST 241 OF THE AMERICAN LEGION. THE LEGION PROVIDES COLOR GUARDS AND 21-GUN SALUTES FOR EVENTS SUCH AS THE DEDICATION OF A NEW GRAVE MARKER FOR PRIVATE DALE KUNKEL WHO DIED IN WORLD WAR II.
