Basehor-Linwood teacher suspended after teen reports sexual relationship

What's worse, assuming what I've heard is true, is that this student gets to keep her cheerleading position. This is unacceptable given that she willingly participated. It is no different than violating the drug and alcohol policies all students sign who are involved in sports. She conducted herself in a morally reprehensible manner unbecoming to a "representative" of Basehor-Linwood High School!! If Meghan has any values left she would voluntarily resign her position for her teammates sake.

Ummm, I am a CLOSE friend with the student and also a fellow cheerleader and I dissagree with your RUDE post.. She is an AMAZING cheerleader and shes keeping her spot. We love her. THANKS!

I'd heard rumors that this was happening and it's a real shocker to think this kind of thing could happen right here at home. I am concerned for both people involved. I can't imagine what his wife feels.

i am very shocked to learn this. i am a former student of his and he was always a very good teacher and a generally nice person. he comes into my work at least 3 times a week and this whole situation doesn't even seem to phase him.

Yeeeeahhh. well the cheerleading team isn't known for being all that classy anyways. everyone in the school knew she always made did stuff with teachers, or at least said she did, for a long time. she shouldn't be a cheerleader because look at how that represents the school. it's just as much her fault for starting all of it, as it is theirs.

Well, It appears this is a bunch of "Mindless Children" adding comments. Do we forget that this is a "Child" reguardless of your thoughts of her. This "Teacher" be the Pervert that he is, needs to be delt with in accordance of Kansas law. The Teacher should have stopped it, and got the student HELP! Instead of taking advantage of the student! Then to go as far as to Post the Names of who you 'Think" it is....

As far as the teacher, what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Everyone is assuming that these accusations are true.

Teachers need to not prey on children. When I was in the 8th grade in middle school in KCK, I had a sexual relationship with a male teacher for over a year and half. He would take me to his apartment. I was in the 8th grade and he was 35. The only people who knew where a few close friends. I remember asking him if he was happy or if there was anything else I could do to make him happy and replied I could be more aggressive. I remember I had to look up the word agressive cause I didnt know what it meant. now that I am older 30's I regret it and wished I wouldnt have done it.

I think she deserves nothing she did this to her self you learn at a young age that things like this are wrong and she knew what she was doing the whole time.I dont think she even regrets doing it and thinks it will all go away and it wont. She is giving the cheerleaders a bad name i know many of the cheerleaders personally and they arent like that they have a lot of class and morals. She is ruining the cheerleaders.

I agree that what MAY have happened is wrong but I also agree that if it happened with TWO teachers like it is now being said, this girl knew what she was doing.. The teachers did as well but I don't think that all the wrath should be put on just the teachers. From what I hear this girl was far from innocent and she was known to "get around" so I hope this whole situation is closely investigated.

Im tired of young girls who are engaging in these activities AND their parents trying to put the blame on everyone but themselves.. Don't get me wrong, i'm not siding with either but I do know that I have seen so many similar situations where the older person gets blamed and the girl who may be 16, but has also already slept with SEVERAL people besides the older adult who is getting in trouble..

negative the adult is in the wrong here the teacher is to have a positive influence in every students life which this is not the case in thos situation... this is also not the first allegation against the 44 year old teacher this the first one that has gone past the students, she should enjoy the rest of her senior year as a cheerleader, this is not like the drug and alcohol policy has no reference to it and isnt even comparable. which makes you look like you have no idea what you are talking about saying that this relates to that policy. you've basically stated that statulatory rape is fine and you would be fine with the same thing if you have or had a daughter in the same situation

I am as too a cheerleader i dont think she dserves it meaning her spot it makes us look worse

I think that it is immoral for her to keep her spot on the squad when she was a consentual participant and knew that it was wrong. The school district did the right thing by firing the teachers!! But, they need to apply the same rules and regulations to the student.. Wrong, girl you should be behind close doors and not allowed out of the house. I don't care if you have 15 brothers and sisters, you shouldn't be sleeping with teachers for attention!
