By JIM MAURER STAFF WRITER TIFFIN -- Bids of more than $3.8 million for the Bascom wastewater treatment plant were opened Tuesday morning, about $100,000 above estimates.
A family of seven -- including five young children -- was taken to a local hospital after suffering injuries during a fire at their Seneca County home.
The victims, whose names were unavailable, were transported to an area hospital, according to the Seneca County sheriff's office.

Bascom fire officials say the fire started in the kitchen as a grease fire but quickly spread.
