Man struck, killed in Apple Valley

A 48-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning after he was struck by a mini van while crossing a state highway on foot.

There is no such vehicle as a 2007 Windstar. Ford stopped making those crappy vans YEARS ago.

That's odd. I know the area. That stretch of highway has 2 to 3 lanes each way. It's not like each lane was full and he attempted to play "Frogger". Nor is it like there weren't other lanes available for the vehicle to move into to avoid him.

It's futile to attempt to make sense of anything that happens in Apple Valley and surrounding areas. It's another world of lost souls.

Its 2 lanes, and even if their were 10, would that still matter....?? Could you define Accident? "an undesirable or unfortunate happening that occurs unintentionally and usually results in harm, injury, damage, or loss"

There is insufficient traffic enforcement by SB Sheriff Deputies in Apple Valley. There have been several other fatal pedestrian accidents, and several accidents involving motor vehicles vs. bicycles. Pedestrians regularly jaywalk along this section of Happy Trails Hwy, and vehicles don't stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, or don't yield to bicycles when they should. It's a mess.
