Alice Buckley of Barling has been a volunteer poll worker for more than 40 years _ more than half of them in Sebastian County.
'I'm 96 next month. My lady friend, she's in her 80s, says when she grows up, she wants to be like me,' Buckley said, laughing.
Buckley's joy in life makes everyone fall in love with her, said Marguritte Ward, a Barling polling place judge. Ward said she's known Buckley for years.
'She's got such an expression on her face when she talks about winning a beauty pageant. ... You get that smile and the mischievous look on her face no matter what,' Ward said. Read more
