Lafitte trout hanging out above Grand Isle

So here's the whole story. . . Almost all of the speckled trout that's inhabiting the region have moved into Lower Barataria Bay and almost all of the redfish have moved into the shoreline shallows around the broken islands just north of Grand Isle.

On Thursday, the Senate passed a federal lands bill that includes a provision to transfer 3,000 acres of federal land to the Barataria Preserve Unit of the national park and authorizes the National Park Service to buy 5,857 acres of private land from willing sellers.
