Beauty in the Beast explores the fury and the majesty of South Dakota weather. The exhibit featuring the works of artists Mary Groth, Nancyjane Heuhl, Dale Lamphere, Paul Schiller and writer Craig Lawrence is the Visual Arts Center of the Washington Pavilion.

Officials in Lake and Moody Counties and those downstream are monitoring rivers closely after seven inches of rain hit the Madison and Flandreau areas over the weekend.

A semi-trailer went up in flames Friday near Baltic just after 10 a.m. Baltic Fire Rescue was called to 454th street near 473rd Avenue just north of Sioux Falls.

It didn't take long for crews to put out the fire. They believe it started in the deck area in the back side of the home, but they are still investigating the cause.
