Roger E. Lent, 76, Fish Creek, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, in Port Richey, Fla., surrounded by his family, after suffering a stroke several days earlier.

As part of a yearlong celebration of its 75th anniversary, The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor is offering an opportunity to experience Door County's geologic counterpart - the Bruce Peninsula of Ontario, in an eight-day tour scheduled for June 11-18. Saturday, the Miller Art Museum opens 'A Passion for Pets,' a family-oriented exhibition created by museum staff for kids of all ages.

I have been reading a good mystery, 'Starting Over.' I was delighted to find that it is written by local Bob McCurdy of Baileys Harbor and more so when I read the inside page and found that Jeanne Whildin of Jacksonport had done the cover illustration and editing.

Baileys Harbor has a contestant in the 2012 Door County Idol teen singing competition at the Door County Auditorium.
