Tarrant-area bands will be taking their show on road - to state finals

Five Tarrant County-area bands qualified for the state finals Saturday at competitions in Carrollton and Odessa.
Azle, Saginaw, Boswell and Fossil Ridge high schools took the four Area A qualifying spots in Odessa, with Springtown as the first alternate. Aledo finished second behind Sherman in Area B in Carrollton, with Birdville and Joshua as the alternates.
The 4A state finals will be Nov. 5-6 in San Antonio.
'We killed it,' said Bryan Shaban, an Aledo junior who plays the saxophone. 'That may have been our best performance.' Read more
