Police have arrested the man they suspect of gunning down a woman after her daughter's eighth-grade graduation ceremony in Avondale.

Avondale police are investigating a shooting at Westview High School, 10850 W. Garden Lakes Parkway in Avondale, after a man shot a woman in the parking lot.

The Avondale Elementary School District will seek two overrides in November, hoping larger voter turnout during presidential elections and working with two other districts will help win money for teacher salaries, electives like band and art and new furniture.

Buckeye police arrested five men they say shot through the windows of 34 vehicles with a pellet gun, causing an estimated $15,000 in damage, and also may be responsible for a string of similar vehicle vandalism in Avondale and Goodyear over the last two years.
