really?...i mean, REALLY?! c/o's inciting a riot?! come on...seriously, ppl that have never worked behind the wall should not speak or judge on what goes on because they have no idea..prisoners riot because they have no respect for the law, which is why they are convicted felons and in prison in the first place...'forcing' inmates in the sun for hours to get sunburned?! actually they are grown adults and have a choice whether or not they come out to yard, they arent forced outside, but they understand that once they are outside they arent allowed back in til yard recall...so if they make the choice to go outside then they know they will be outside for the remainder of the time and are well aware of how hot it gets in the valley...ppl need to stop feeling sorry for these criminals and stop blaming officers for 'inciting' riots due to inmate mistreatment...its prison for christ sake, not best western!

I DONT KNOW WHO'S FAULT IT WAS AND I REALLY DON'T CARE SO MUCH ABOUT WHO CAUSED THE RIOT... WHAT I DO CARE ABOUT IS SOMEONE REAL CLOSE TO MY HEART WAS HURT BY THE STAFF THEY COULD OF KILLED HIM AND I THINK THAT IF THEY HAD KILLED HIM THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE BLAME THEY WOULD OF SAID "IT MUST OF HAPPEND DURING THE RIOT IT MUST OF BEING ANOTHER INMATE" WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IS THAT I KNOW THAT THIER DOING THIER JOB BUT COME ON NOT ALL INMATES ARE ANIMALS... SO DON'T TREAT THEM LIKE THEY ARE U GIVE RESPECT U GET RESPECT... AND IT WOULD BE NICE IF U WOULD INFORM THE FAMILY IF YOUR LOVED ONE WAS DEAD OR ALIVE...

The authors of this article obviously have never been in a prison or never set foot in a large scale incident like a riot. I work as a California C/O and I have been in eight large riots in 7 years it is not fun, it is scary as hell. But I have to do my job. There is no way in hell any C/O I know would ever contemplate starting a riot. It's this stupid liberal thinking that has this nation running backward. Get a life. By the way the inmates you got your info from lied.

Sunburns...are you kidding? Inmates get free sunblock and it's not the generic wal-mart brand, it's top of the line Coppertone.

My boyfriend is on yard 2. The CO's have takin away thier water and are trying to take away their electricity. How is that for setting some one off.....? I know the CO's are provoking them and Call me what you want to but Inmates are human beings dispite what mistakes have been made in thier lives. If you turn off lights and take away water in my house Im gonna show my ass too!!!

I think taking away water is a big mistake, all that would do is cause an inmate to become ill with dehydration and cause him to go to medical ward and who pays the bill, you the tax payer! The State Prisons get $33,000 per inmate per year why do you think they would cause them to get more time added to their sentence?

If anyone knows the difference between Modified Program and Lockdown I sure would like to know also how long will it take to find out who is being transferred and who isnt, according to the newspaper it stated over 300 inmates were being transferred to Solano State Prison, try calling and asking the officers or even the watch commander and you get no answers. I can understand inmate frustration, family's should be able to ask questions and get an answer.

Guards didn't cause the riots. It was the Blacks vs the Southerners. I know it just jumped off Chino with the Blacks and the Southerners and I heard Soledad had a riot too about a month ago. Im pretty sure this had some trickle down effect or some sort of disrespect.

Staff is well aware of what they are causing..putting peoples lives at stake for what more pay??? If inmates are killed because of this there will be wrongfull death lawsuits against the state, prison and the guards themselves. They knew what would happen and did it anyway. The state can just pay out millions of dollars. Even if some on here don't like it those men are someones loved ones and family members will go off the deep end. Don't think they don't know what these guards are doing...

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Virgo

You're struggling to get everything finished in time today, making you feel fractious and tired. At some point you may have to take a pragmatic decision about which tasks must be completed today and which will have to be postponed until another day. Do your best to keep things in proportion otherwise you'll waste time in trivial details and needless nit-picking.
