Representatives from an international company planning to build a wind farm in Wythe and Carroll counties met with area residents Monday to share information and discuss the project.

By Joe Tennis/Bristol Herald Courier - The New River Trail, it appears, just gets better with age as its popularity grows to about 1 million visitors a year through the counties of Wythe, Carroll, Pulaski and Grayson, said Chief Ranger Robert Leonard.

When the six current members of the Carroll County Board of Supervisors took office in January of 2008, the group quickly made a list of goals it hoped to achieve over the four-year term.

Genealogists who do not live in the Richmond, VA area will want to make the trip or alert friends and family in that area about a Lincoln-signed copy of the Thirteenth Amendment on display for one weekend only this month.

Prior to its April 14 meeting, members of the Carroll County Public Service Authority toured the Austinville Regional Water Treatment Plant.
