Point Park University musical theatre junior Kaley Ann Voorhees, this week, made her Broadway debut, playing the highly coveted leading role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera . Voorhees made her debut Monday at the Majestic Theatre, opposite Tony Award-nominated Norm Lewis , the first African American to play the Phantom in the New York production.

Vehicle taken: Police said the boyfriend of the daughter of a couple on Canterbury Drive took their car Aug. 31 without their permission and returned with it Sept. 1. When police arrived, the man was in the car on the property refusing to get out.

Aurora to pay $10 more per ton for salt; others face much higher prices

Although many area communnities are seeing a dramatic rise in road salt prices for attacking snowfall this winter, Aurora is in pretty good shape, according to Service Director John Trew. Portage County Engineer Michael Marozzi said this year's bid from Morton Salt is $108 per ton, a 400 percent increase over last year's price.
