Auburn craftsman brings new life to old barn wood

A polished new coffee table sits protected under a red cloth in the back of Auburn Furniture Service Inc., tucked into a haphazard maze of yet-to-be-fixed chairs and cabinets and behind a sweet-smelling pile of lumber. The never-used table was finished last August, and only made it back to the warehouse with a third place ribbon from the New York State Fair last month.
