Teen pleads guilty to assaulting fellow student with razor blade

We need to have a thoughtful public discussion about unregistered razors. Call your elected and appointed officials today and demand public hearings and demand action. If we don't stop razor violence today, we'll be drowning in a bloodbath.

Thanks, you proved the point for me. If the story said her name was Marta Lopez, everyone would have been all over it, and no one would say "oh, stop controversy". I figured I'd take the other side's approach, and comment first. They get to defend their point that all minorities committ all crimes, I get to defend mine.

I've seen that exact post here before "blacks and latinos commit all crimes" That was the post, verbatim. If you haven't seen it before, I've given you the name of the link so you can find it. I'm sure it'll be here again, so please don't say I confuse facts, just because you've never seen it. That would be like you telling someone that their car isn't red, just because YOU'VE never seen it.

It was in the link about the cottonwood bus crash, and a few others. It's the same person that posts it, from Farminton, and then everyone gets going on it.

Quoting someone is not stereotyping FYI. Referring to someone as THEY is not stereotyping either, unless it refers to a broad range of people, based on few common characteristics.

Simply dividing people into those who post racist comments and those that don't isn't stereotyping or racist either. It's based on their own posts, and it's easy to prove as fact, not stereotype. Either you do, or you don't.

I think your just trying to find an exscuse for why it made you uncomfortable that I brought up a valid point. If this story was about a kid with a "black" or "mexican" name, their would have been a ton of posts about it.

And i'll make sure to save the link for the next time there is such a story, and use it to reply to everyone that decides to get all heated up about the next minority that commits a crime. It's called a point, and counter point, not confusion of facts.

Race is never involved if it's a white kid. Go look at the posts for the 15 year old that shot someone. Race is a huge issue there, because of how his name sounds. And according to the posts, its as if the newspaper reported his family's welfare statistics.

Of course it's not mentioned here, it's a white kid from Atwater. That's my point. People that read posts on other stories will see this one too.

People like me make people like you think about other posts and ideas you spread everywhere, the best defense you have is "stop playing the race card!". Bit too much though provoking for you? It's ok to turn any other story into a racial one, but not this one? Too bad

She was probably 17 when it occured, or it's a typo.

If she was from the inner city, they'd try her as an adult at 12, and keep her in jail for 20+ years til she was institutionalized, and beyond fixing.
