Someone needs to learn where to put the comma. Is it $15,000 or is it $1,500...there is no such number the way it is written in the story.
And why were they trying to buy a half million dollar bridge if the old one could so cheaply be repaired? Someone was looking to make a huge profit or the engineer is an idiot. |
It's $1,500 and this is a different bridge. The $450,000 is to fix the Bernhardt Road Bridge. |
To the first poster, the article talks about two different bridges.

How many times do I have to tell you, when you need bridge work call an Alaskan politician.
Yeah Right, How about I am trying to get some good press prior to trying to get the money for another worker. How about A) giving the total cost after All repairs are completed B) explaining a bid package that was trumped up and never would have been approved anyway C) Tell me you aren't trying to get something for your resume so you can get a job in a town with a bigger budget. I hear this B.S. everyday. Taking something and comparing apples and oranges, using slight of hand and misinformation to make your self look like you saved the world. Here's my take, You did your job, now get your ass out there and continue to do it.
I predict some lame selectmen will be proposing to issue a commendation for this and waste more time at meetings instead of dealing with real problems. |

Bob, What in all heck was that post all about?
oh, sorry, I read it on my phone, I have alerts when it's Ashby/Ashburnham stories. I misinterpreted the headline as the story. I thought it said the they had a 450K grant to fix the bridge they fixed for 15K.
Mea Culpa, I'll stay off the phone web browser till I get home.... made me laugh my butt off when your response came up on my phone. Thought it was the wife who sent it at first so I called her. She told me I was an idiot, no soup for me. |
Oh, And I'm from Ashburnham hill rd.,My office is up north, but not Concord,NH?
Bob, if you're from Ashburnham Hill Rd. I would recommend changing you're screename to "Billy Bob" rather than "Bob".

I thhink this is great. Can anyone tell me why the Bernhart Road bridge is so much. Why can't we do that ourselves for a lot less money. I realize it is a larger project, but why so much money. A bridge is a bridge isn;t it
I think some one from Aahby highway should get an engineering degree before they can talk to the media about repairing any bridges
I think they should know they can now drive up to West ROAD. There is only one street in Ashby that I know of and that's MAIN STREET! Anyway, glad they could fix it on three days salary of the interim police chief. |
