Layoffs

With layoffs announced less than two weeks after the passage of city and county tax issues, some people may be feeling hoodwinked.They shouldn't. Officials never promised voter approval of the city's 0.25 percent income tax or the county's 0.50 percent sales tax would solve all the financial problems facing city and county government.
