.......... Voter turnout at the polls in Adams County Tuesday was just below expected, according to county Commissioner Glen Snyder.

The county was predicting a 30 percent turnout, and 28.9 percent of residents voted, Snyder said.

"It is what it is," Snyder said late Tuesday, adding that he thought the race for the fourth judge in the Court of Common Pleas brought more people to the polls than years past.

Every year, Snyder said, he'd like to see a big turnout, especially because of the cost of elections, but said all went well for the most part..........

I think our election process is terrible, more specifically the information on who is running for what positions. Maybe if there was information published showing each position open and unbiased information on each candidate running then maybe you would get more people out to vote.

Your average voter doesn't know what positions are up for vote or where to get the information.

I can tell you why they were a few voters short - I have 3 voting stations within 2 minutes of my house and we were changed to a station about 6-7 minutes away. Yes, not outlandish of a drive, but when you are already pressed for time and are used to going to one that's close to the house, who wants to change and have to go out of their way? Not sure why they couldn't leave well enough alone or if they had to change, give me a voting location closer to my home rather than have to drive past 3 of them to get to my new one.

We all have a choice to vote, this is so sad that someone cannot drive six miles. People are dying for this right as an American. Please reconsider or call a friend and carpool.
