A daylong celebration, known as Separation Day, is set in New Castle, where the fateful vote was taken June 15, 1776, to form "The Delaware State." The historic city will be filled with free activities starting with an hourlong parade at 11 a.m. There will be historic re-enactors, rides, food, booths, games, arts and crafts.
