But sadly, he'll be out in 10 years or less.

How can any of our politicians still state that the death penalty is immoral?????? This guy and his actions are proof we need to bring back the death penalty and only allow 2 appeals - sit on death row for a month at the most. These crimes are what is driving society to the point where we are now. I pray that this child's soul is spared and she somehow never remembers or relives this terrible incident.

God is in heaven and Dona Ana county remains the winner with more savages per square foot than anywhere else in the US.

The apartment complex should share some liability in this case. They failed to provide a safe environment for their tenants by hiring this idiot without doing a background check! I wouldn't be surprised if more young girls come out and accuse this predatorr of similar assaults.

Here, once again, a repeated established pattern of licentious, disobedient behavior, over a period of 10 years. The offense committed against the police officer ALONE should have been grounds for all lifelong removal of freedom. In a more perfect, expeditious manner, he would have been submitted to a firing squad. But as it stands, he should have been committed to an 8 x 8 cell after the 2001 incident, which occurred on top of his then 2 'priors'.

Who in the hell is appointing the judges to the bench in this state? Why are these predators released, time after time, after time, to commit these acts?

One more thought: there are now 18 comments, including my own, on this story. In contrast, within 5 hours of the story, there were over 150 comments about people being inconvenienced by some dumb film on Sonoma Ranch. Herein lies the problem, inate to our citizenry. There were more people objecting to something that impacted them, albiet briefly. Impacting their own little habitat, over something seemingly insignificant, like re-routing traffic. There should be over 150 comments on this article, lamenting this crime that was perpetrated on this innocent little 6 year old girl. That's where your passion should lie, you Las Cruces residents. Not over a 30 minute delay on a highway. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Your system of government is co-conspiring with brigands of this society to further compromise your quality of life. Wake up people.

It is in water in Las Cruces. Never have I ever read so many stories on a weekly basis about child abuse/rape. What is wrong with your town?

I have to say it! I would appear that LC just might be the "Assult Capital" of the USA. For such a small city, seems like there is way too much rape and assult, especially of children. Is it something in the water, the mountain air or just a community of stupid as dirt people? LC just may be slipping below EP, which is truly unimaginable in my book. Any coments?
