Group to market grain for area farmers

Area farmers cooperatives have started a marketing venture to focus on strengthening values for grain grown in Kansas and northern Oklahoma.

Ten co-ops have joined or are scheduled to join Co-Mark Grain Marketing LLC over the next three months.

CGM began operations Feb. 1. It will handle all grain merchandising, accounting and logistics under one federal license.

Ownership of physical grain assets will remain with the local co-ops, and farmers will not see much change at the local co-op level. Read more
