The cause of a fire that destroyed a home at 5 Pinnacle Drive on Saturday evening was still unknown Monday morning, and fire officials say it might never be known.

Still no cause in Amherst fire
AMHERST -- Fire officials here continue to probe the blaze that gutted several stores in a Route 101A shopping plaza last week, and have still not ruled out arson.
Meanwhile, the company that owns the buildings has hired its own investigators to look into the cause.
"We're looking at all avenues," said Amherst Deputy Fire Chief Matt Conley.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Mayo Group of Boston, owners of the buildings at 131 Route 101A, said that insurance investigators have been at the scene "along with investigators retained by the Mayo Group."
Properties just off of the beach aren't generally known for their low prices, but a development of small cottages is bucking the trend.
