Its 47 max plus 6 years remaining on his present sentence for burglary. That's 53 possible years w/o north among the public. The death sentence is more suitable for a creep like that but, justice is seldom forthcoming when it comes to criminals. I know the family of the victim will definitely be at any parole hearing in the future and will keep scott north in jail until he dies. north is done as far as ever getting out to kill anyone else. He can live his miserable life behind bars where he belongs. Good riddance to the weirdo.

I knew Carl personally and some of his family. He was a friend and gentleman. I hope his family may find a little closure. God Bless you Carl! You were Loved by Many. RIP. Your buddy, JJ

I have known Carl, since he was a little boy. He was kind then and grew into a loving kind man. His reward has come to him in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ.

How was this only third degree murder? What about stealing Carl's car and credit cards. And he knew this man, that's cold and brutal. This should have been a plea bargain between life in prison or the death penalty. Scott will be a wonderful addition to our society in 7-8 years, completely reformed of course.
Clearly you don't know the difference between first, second, and third degree murder in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is also clear that you don't know what it takes by way of evidence to convict an individual of first degree murder. But of course, don't let me get in the way of your criticism of prosecutors making decisions based on the evidence.

The biggest difference is they would have to hold a trial, make an effort presenting evidence to get a first or second degreemurder conviction. Third degree is a plea bargain. Case closed.

He'll be out in 10 years or sooner. He knows how to manipulate the system. Prison is no big deal to him.

I knew Mr North back in high school until he dropped out. He was always a loser and was always starting some kind of trouble. If he is ever let out of prison he will do this again, there is something very wrong with this man. He should ahve got life in prison, he better at least do the 47 years, i feel he got of light, they should have fired his butt! I hope some other inmates give him as much pain as he has caused to all of teh people of this area.

Gosh, you hit the nail right on the head! Make sure you post under your real name so I know who to vote for in the next election for District Attorney.
