Altmar, Oswego County a ' The American Red Cross is assisting a family and their houseguests after a fire caused major damage to their home Thursday night.

Crews from four fire departments battled a fire in an abandoned trailer early this morning, Oswego County 911 said.

A fire at a camp at 78 Lorton Lake Drive was reported at 11:45 a.m. Working at the scene are firefighters from several companies, including Orwell, Williamstown, Redfield and Altmar, according to Oswego County 911.

New Superintendent Gerry Hudson said things looked a little different for him during the opening of school Wednesday morning.

Some voters in Constantia and Albion will go to new polling places this year. District 2 voters in Albion will no longer vote at the Dugway Methodist Church.

The Oswego County Sheriff's Department says a 14-year-old boy was swimming with friends in Altmar's Kasoag Lake when he went under and did not resurface.

An Altmar man was injured late Tuesday night when he lost control of his motorcycle on county Route 22 in Albion, Oswego County deputies said.

Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious motorcycle accident on Mexico Street in Altmar in Oswego County, 911 dispatchers said.

"I'm just really sorry about what happened, that's about it," said Patrick McLeod after his arraignment Tuesday.
