Alsey village president charged with misconduct
Alsey Village President Rodney A. Sturgeon will go to court Monday to face charges of official misconduct after being accused of accepting about $5,000 to $10,000 in unlawful compensation.

The boil order for the city of Roodhouse has been lifted. Dennis McMurray, a spokesman for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, confirmed Monday that the order for Roodhouse residents to boil all water used for drinking and cooking had been lifted late Saturday night.

Larry A. Baker, 46, of Alsey, Ill., was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of driving while license revoked and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.
