CROSWELL -- In a Division 2 district soccer opener at Croswell Lexington, the host Pioneers lost to Lapeer East, 7-1. Justin Partlo scored for Cros-Lex; Tyler Andrews assisted.

ALMONT -- Aleece Force had 16 kills, 13 service points and three blocks Wednesday to lead Croswell-Lexington past Almont in Blue Water Area Conference action, 25-20, 25-14, 20-25, 25-17. Kaitlin Barrett added 30 assists and nine points for Cros-Lex , while Nikki Turcott had 22 digs and 10 points, and Taylor Reagan had 10 kills.

CROSWELL -- Aleece Force led Croswell-Lexington with 20 kills, 15 service points and three blocks Wednesday night in a come-from-behind win against Imlay City, 22-25, 16-25, 25-16, 25-21, 16-14. Taylor Reagan added 14 kills for Cros-Lex , while Ashley Baker had 10.

The Croswell-Lexington Pioneers and Almont Raiders are pulling away in Week 5 of the Times Herald You Make The Call Contest.

RICHMOND -- Armada got out quickly and had to hold on Wednesday in a five-set Blue Water Area Conference win against Richmond, 25-17, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 15-9. Katie Kortas had 35 assists and six kills to lead Armada.

CAPAC -- Ashley Mosseau had 13 passes and seven attackes Wednesday to lead Capac past Almont in Blue Water Area Conference action, 25-21, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22. Abby Aginuga had 27 passes for Capac, while Sam Smith added seven attacks and three blocks.

Buckham Alley's taking the antics of the Soady deer camp on the road. The traveling theater will bring Jeff Daniels' famous play "Escanaba in da Moonlight" to Durand, Almont, Holly and Frankenmuth in September.

Three games are in early contention for the Times Herald Game of the Week. The Blue Water Area Conference game featuring Almont at Richmond is the leader of the You Make The Call contest with 23.2% of the votes.
