Two weeks ago the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that testing at Howard Hansen Dam on the upper Green River has shown things are no better than they were last January when floodwater opened two depressions on the dam's right abutment.

The Auburn International Farmers Market begins its inaugural season Sunday. Festivities begin at 8 a.m. at the Auburn Transit Center with the Kiwanis Cowboy Breakfast, followed by a formal opening ceremony celebration at 10:30 a.m. that will include a welcome by Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis, Pacific Mayor Rich Hildreth and Algona Mayor David Hill.
