Voters gave an approving nod to challengers in Johnstown and Alexandria races on Nov.

Wayne L. Howard is Alexandria's new chief of police. Council voted at its Nov. 3 meeting to hire Howard, who lives in Pataskala, on a full-time basis.

While the faces of the Johnstown-Monroe Local Schools and village council are expected to remain mostly the same, newcomers will be seen on the Northridge Board of Education, Monroe Township Board of Trustees and Alexandria Village Council as a result of next week's election.
