Afton woman, boyfriend charged with felonies after attempt to bring cocaine into jail

An Afton woman has been charged with a pair of felonies after she allegedly attempted to sneak narcotics into the Chenango County Correctional Facility for her boyfriend, currently held on separate charges, on New Year's Day.

Name of man killed in Monday afternoon accident released

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday identified the driver in a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Monday on State Highway 7 in the Town of Afton as 68-year-old Michael A. Minichino of Afton.
