Kenneth Guy Jackson, 33, of 1003 Park Ave in Ackley was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at 2:52 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at 405.

Less than a week after a West Jefferson couple died in a motorcycle-truck crash on state Route 142, a Madison County Grand Jury indicted the driver of the pick-up, Timothy S. Ackley of London, on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide with drunk-driving specifications.

A special birthday Monday for one eastern Iowa woman, Monday. Alice Ruter of Wellsburg turned 101, but she isn't the only long living family member.

Mason Blaine Meyer born February 27, 2012 to Andrew and Nicole Meyer of Ackley, IA.

He was born Jan. 4, 1929, at home in Butler County, son of Albert and Lillian Meinders Meyer.
