I find it odd that after months of deliberation re 20 plus taser deaths in Canada, Winnipeg continued using them without a change in protocol. The Justice System with all it high paid adivisor is said to be proactive in this Province yet we will only react to after a Taser fatality. Studies have indicated all along that the chance of death increases with substance abuse or people under the influence meaning Tasers would not be able to be used in very many cases in WINNIPEG.

he got what he deserved. if i'd have been the cop and he pulled a knife , i would have pulled a gun, not a taser and shot him dead. at least one more lowlife off the streets.

My only question is -- how did it take so long? Cops in Winterpeg are the most ignorant, nasty morons in Canada. They like to beat poor squeegee kids and homeless people and suck up to merchants and the chamber of commerce -- evil errand boys. I am only surprised the slob skin head cops here did not tazer someone to death before now!!!

When I was an aux. police officer I was confronted by a criminal with a knife. You better believe that I wasn't thinking how to make nice with this bastard. It was only a little luck on his behalf that he didn't get a 38 caliber hole in his head.I find it hard to believe that there are people out there that regard a lowlife criminals life more important that a police officers. It was obvious the police did not intend on killing this jerk otherwise they would have just shot him.The fact he died only eliminated a future problem to the public.
