January 27, 2012 - Schools across the Upper Canada District School Board are celebrating Family Literacy Day Friday, January 27 through a variety of fun, educational activities.

Project OUNCOVER was led by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police , Kingston Police Force and As a result of this nine month investigation investigators located a marihuana processing facility near Westport, Ontario and a large outdoor marihuana grow near Enterprise, Ontario.

After slightly more than a half-century, officials at Rideau District High School are hoping to give the building a belated 50th birthday facelift over the next few years in the form of a $6-million expansion.

Regional officials are asking locals to be on the lookout for an impressive caravan of cyclists riding through the area starting this weekend -and to be ready to cheer them on.

Water bottles topped off? Check. Energy bars? Check. Spare inner tubes, sunscreen, leg warmers? Check.
