Toronto's one-of-a-kind downtown novelty shop Ontario Specialty Company is slated for closure at the end of the month and will be packing away hundreds of vintage sunglasses, mountains of eclectic knickknacks and rows of ancient toys, all reminiscent of a bygone era.

London is one of dozens of Ontario centres where private operators could be allowed into the gambling industry, a shakeup that could also create a Toronto mega-casino. Sweeping changes to the gaming industry unveiled Thursday include 29 new "gaming zones" where private firms would be allowed to operate a single gaming facility.
