BC Ferries president and CEO Mike Corrigan spoke to a joint meeting of the Parksville and Qualicum Beach chambers of commerce on Thursday night.

Concerts Denman will present saxophonist David French, vibraphonist Michael Davidson and acoustic bass player Ken Lister at the Denman Community Hall on May 4 at 7:30 p.m. French is based in Toronto where he leads two jazz ensembles: The David French Quartet and Bloomsday, a two-drummer sextet.

Local residents of Fanny Bay are hosting a letter-writing campaign and asking for help from surrounding communities to join them in expressing their concerns about the proposed Raven coal mine.
