Detroit Free Press travel writer Ellen Creager says if you're just looking for a hotel room or airfare, there really is no point spending hours comparing deals, because the travel sites have all turned into something she calls "inbred goldfish." Manager embezzled $1M from Maitland art gallery, charges say

Jeffrey Hall was supposed to be managing Maitland-based Millenia Gallery, but he was actually embezzling funds and selling some of the artwork on eBay, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office. Federal authorities announced the unsealing of the Hall indictment on Monday, five counts of mail fraud and three counts of wire fraud.

City of Bellevue officials on Thursday approved the design for this Marriott AC hotel proposed for downtown at 210 106th Place N.E. The city has OK'd the design of a 234-room hotel proposed for downtown Bellevue, but it's unclear when construction might start. Bamboo Gardens restaurant and other businesses now operate in a single-story building on the project site at 210 106th Place N.E., in the same block as Expedia's headquarters.
