In his last paragraph the author states that Obama And the democratic Congress may go against the public will. They are doing that now when it comes to health care reform. Secondly Ronald Reagan is quoted. The ex president was right. The US military is a very powerful force when it is allowes to do its job. But political correctness for the sake of civilian opinion, has always hampered the military's ability to acomplish its goals. As aproud memberof the military, I know for fact if the President said "Take and hold the country" it would be done with a minimal of fuss. But turning war fighters into police, and security personell is a different story. War is an ugly bruttal thing. And yes innocent people sometimes get hurt. But it is WAR. Let the troops that are there now do their jobs.

If by public will you really mean REpublicAN will, then yes, he's against it. You people seem to enjoy paying greedy insurance companies loads of money they don't deserve so you can get denied on coverage.

By all means, keep paying your private companies, which have treated everyone so well (Because that's how capitalism works!) and while you're at it, go knock over a couple of middle eastern countries. Forget that bin Laden guy; can't even remember what he did come to think of it...something about a 911 call.

Other, better, presidents had a few things to say about the military industrial complex...strange how Republicans never quote them...

Exactly, so the President and the Congress had better listen to the conservatives and not the Liberal fools!

Public,

Yes Eiesenhower warned us about the military/industrial complex in his farewell speech. And LBJ totally ignored the General.

You talk about insurance companies denying coverage. Have you been denied coverage? For what? Or do you "know somebody" who has been denied? You can have reform to correct this without the public option.

Private companies are what made the USA the strongest, most prosperous, and freest nation on earth. Private companies gave us the lightbulb, the toothbrush, TV, the 747, as well as the airport to land on. Private companies are building the bypass in Bennington. Private companies built the space shuttle. A private (For PROFIT) company owns the Banner too.

You also talk about Bin Laden. I ask this: When did we capture Hitler and put him on trial? The answer is we never captured Hitler. And Tojo stayed on as Emperor in Japan after the war.

If we capture Bin Laden today, he would be extradited to Noo Yawk and given an ACLU attorney, read his "rights", and a spectacle would begin. Because the left believes the destruction on 9/11 was not an act of war, but merely a crime to be handled by a prosecutor.

OOPS~ Correction. Hirohito stayed on as Japan's Emperor, not Tojo. He was executed.

Alright, Mr. History, then what was the point of the Nuremberg trials?

The thing about mere trials (Rule by law, pfft, liberal BS, right?) is that you can merely be found guilty and merely executed for your "crimes."

Calling 9/11 an act of war would imply that there was some authority behind it or justification. Bin Laden represents a pack of deluded criminals who are just that and nothing more.

I think we can both agree that terrorists are lame, no need to yell and shout over the flavor of the turd, it's a turd.

As for the public option, we haven't seen schematics yet, so I'll wait. Foaming Republicans aren't helping, they should be coming up with ideas for improvement and they're not.

I said Conervatives not Republicans, the Bush Republicans turned away from the Conservative base and we all saw what happened. It will be and is far worst with the Liberal Dictator we now have in power. Typical Liberal response is to call names and demean others! Who will you guys blame after 4 years and all has failed?

The Pentagon is asking for more troops and amo to get the job done. And the nation needn't depend on the appointed presidential advisors, low-lifes from Chicago. And the measure must go through Congress, not through Valorie Jarret.

No, the real question is will the fools give credit to Obama once the economy has totally turned around, and our country has finally returned to prosperity?

We now pay five hundred million dollars PER DAY to China in interest payments alone. Yes, Bush was part of that, but Obama owes a vast majority of that bill. That payument became that high on Obama's watch, not Bush's.
$500,000,000 per day.

Our government should not be owning private corporations. The President should not have the power to fire private corporation CEOs. And "CZARS" should never have the power to tell anybody how much money they can make. EVER!

All since Jan 20th.

You need to learn something about economics before you make such idiotic clueless statements. The stock market has climbed way up over the last 8 months, and the world's view of America has gone up just as quickly! Pay some attention to reality.

Don't worry Obama will always get the credit. The way it is always put is it wound have been worse if had a republican. Nucular attacks on Japan a republican would have used two bombs and a fire cracker. Unemployment if go to 20% under Republican's go to 20% and one person on part time. ACORN help to set up young girls as sex workers liberal will say just helping them get jobs.

My Uncle who served over 20 years and saw WW & 2 KOREA & VIETNAM was told by the same said VA he was not a Veteran but was consider retire Army and could not go to the Va. He should go to a army base. Closest on was over a 100 miles away. Not va 6 miles away

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Leo

Perhaps it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve and everyone is busy, but you can't help feeling that you're walking on eggshells around certain people. Their emotions are very close to the surface and could erupt at a moment's notice, perhaps in a storm of tears or a fit of pique. Calm them down and ask if you can do anything to help.
