"...California Highway Patrol took over the chase after it left Pleasanton's jurisdiction, Elerick said."

This person should have stayed in Pleasanton instead of hitting 580, and he'd probably still be a free man.

They started the second chase around the courthouse. Yes, that is funny, he probably had court for another incident.

Read this:
A member of my church was involved in a road rage incident about 5 years ago on I680. Speeds were up to 100mph as he tried to get away from this crazy driver. He feared what this guy was going to do to him, so he took the Bernal offramp and went straight to the Pleasanton Police station. Before he could get into the station, he was beat up severely in the parking lot. The suspect then just drove away.
Also, years ago, a guy from Texas who was lost walked into the Pleasanton Police station for directions. Somehow the dispatcher got his name or license number, ran him through the computer, and discovered he was wanted out of Texas. He fled on foot...and got away.

Hang out where the police are, if your wanted...odds are you will get away in Pleasanton.
