How is it that this local Distribution House is showing a 9 % profit when most other businesses are in the toilet? I live in a smaller suburban area and there is a so called "Super Valu" store here that handles Super Valu products exclusively, nothing else. No generics no nothing. There prices are atrocious and we do not shop there nor do we shop the Cubs or Rainbows that are also serviced by these price gouging greedy !@#$%^&*... I think it is an absolute crime in todays market that they would take pride in the fact of reproting 9 % profits on volume to their bloated stock holders. To literally take food out of children, and the elderlys mouth for the sake of obscene profit taking is unforgivable. We as a family will continue to boycott these !@#$%^&* along with our friends neighbors and relatives who are continuing to do the same. It may not be much but enough is enough as the rest of you sit blindly by and put up with these rip off artists who are doing nothing but climbing on the big oil bandwagon hiding under the disguise of higher oil prices as supposedly affecting their business. Liars they are all liars. No integrity just a continuance of grubby little demeaning "ME TOO" selfish profit muneringattitudes. What goes around comes around and they will get their final notice and come uppance someday too. Funny how that works. I hope their executives end up out on the street.

SuperValu is a tad more than a local distribution house. It also includes Albertsons. Rainbow is not serviced by SuperValu. You're talking about a 9% profit here. 9%.
You must be a blast at the filling station.

We live in Florida and buy our groceries almost exclusively at Save-A-Lot, which is a subsidiary of SuperValu. Save-A-Lot is great -- bare-bones, no frills, low prices. I would be willing to bet a big portion of SuperValu's profits are due to value-conscious customers migrating away from popular chains, and into "discount" grocers like Save-A-Lot.
